19 modulars documented over 19 nights on the FDR and rooftops of Rockefeller University. The Rockefeller University expansion required coordination of construction schedules, nighttime highway closures, and the tides of the East River to lift massive mods off a moving barge with one of the world’s biggest cranes, forever shading sections of the FDR Drive.  It was an operation of immense scale and pinpoint accuracy that was documented from fabrication in NJ to final mod setting atop the FDR at 3am, on a warm summer morning.

The project, designed by Rafael Viñoly and now complete, provides a unique 2-acre expansion of research facilities and outdoor space.
